On Thursday, February 28 at 7 pm, the Madison Library will host a meeting for people interested in participating in a Sustainability Study Circle. Representatives from Global Awareness Local Action (G.A.L.A.), who have helped launch Study Circles in Freedom and Wolfeboro, will be on hand to explain how a Study Circle works and describe the options for discussion topics. Study Circles follow a discussion guide and meet for approximately four to six weeks to discuss a single topic.
Each Study Circle session includes readings, short assignments and accompanying group discussion questions from a Study Guide used by all participants. Study Circle participants will need to purchase (or share) a Study Guide. There is no outside presenter or teacher of these discussion courses. Rather, the role of facilitator rotates with each group meeting.
Once a topic is chosen, Study Circle participants will determine the group’s meeting schedule.
