We’re starting a new four-session series of “Tech Talks” on Tuesdays at 2 pm, starting November 30 through December 21. Each week will feature a different topic, and all are welcome to attend.

  • November 30: a hands-on look at the nook e-reader. Come try one out, and see how the nook works with the downloadable e-books available from the library.
  • December 7: an introduction to cloud computing with Google Docs. See how you can create, edit, and save text, spreadsheet, and slideshow documents, and access them from any computer with an internet connection. Hands-on time for practice can be arranged for after the program using the library’s public computers.
  • December 14: Facebook! Aimed at the unconnected but curious, learn how Facebook is used for social connections and marketing, and a little bit about preserving privacy online.
  • December 21: Keeping up with Twitter. These short messages can be used to track friends, get updates from your favorite news source or organization, reveal hot topics as they develop.
