Join us on Saturday, December 14 from 10 am to noon to share holiday greetings with library staff, Trustees, and neighbors, and enjoy some seasonal snacks.
A special addition to this year’s open house is a visit by picture book author and illustrator Karel Hayes, who will read and sign copies of her newest book, The Christmas Visitors, a sweet tale in which a human family and a bear family find a way to share a lakeside cabin for the holidays. Karel will bring some sketches from her books for display at the open house. Karel will read her book at 11 am.
Karel Hayes is the artist who, along with her son John Gorey, painted the mural in the Madison Library’s children’s room.
Copies of The Christmas Visitors will be available for sale and for signing before and after the reading. Books will be provided by White Birch Books in North Conway, and 10% of book sales at the open house will go to the Madison Library.
