Over 50 people, mostly kids, came to The Brothers Plad Party on Wednesday, July 25. Sean and Matt Plasse, a.k.a. Watermelon Tourmaline and Hignus Harkaway, came and talked a bit about what it’s like to have dyslexia. Then, they got the kids to act out some of the scenes in their book, The Mystery Trout, and told the children that in order to be a true Pladder, they can do three things: read stories, go out (and they mean outside) to find their own stories, and then write their stories down.
The afternoon was a lot of fun, we found out that plad shirts can take a beating, and we snacked on watermelon, beef jerky, and root beer (thanks to Heidi Forde), and got Brothers Plad tattoos.
And if you haven’t had a chance to read the book, there are copies available at the library.
