2017’s theme is “Build a Better World” Weekly programs for kids, summer story times, a ‘tween and teen book club and more!

This year’s sponsors

Read book reviews by our teen and adult readers

How our 2017 program works:
For kids 3 to 12 – sign up at the Madison Library or sign up online
(11 and 12 year olds, choose the program that fits you best)

  • Sign up starting June 17.
  • For kids ages 3 to 5: Pick up an early literacy activity sheet, bring your sheet to the library for a sticker and a weekly prize. Join us for story times on Thursdays at 4 pm or Fridays at 10 am. (Parents of 5-year-olds, choose the best program for your child, this one or the following.)
  • For kids ages 5 to 12: Pick up a reading log to keep a list of what you’ll read over the summer. Please also record how many minutes you spend reading in the log. Bring your reading log in when you visit the library for a sticker and a weekly prize. Join us for our weekly kids’ event.
  • For everyone: To be eligible for prizes at our Wrap-up Party on August 9 at 2:30 pm, you will need to bring your completed early literacy activity sheet or reading log to the library by Thursday, August 3.

For teens age 12 to 17 and adults 18 and older – sign up at the Madison Library or sign up online
(11 and 12 year olds, choose the program that fits you best)

  • Sign up starting June 17.
  • Read any book.
  • For each book you read, submit a brief book review online (how you felt – not a summary of the book), or write your name and a short review on a review slip available at the library.
  • On July 14 and again on August 4, one teen reader’s and one adult reader’s review will be randomly drawn for a prize. If you win the first drawing, you won’t be eligible to win the second, but all of your reading will count towards the grand prize for the teen or adult who reads the most books.
  • All reviews should be in by the deadline, Thursday, August 3.
  • We wrap up with a Wrap-up Party on Friday, August 9 at 2:30 pm in the Chick Room at the library.
