combination of violin and piano. These three sonatas (op. 8, 13, 45) are some of
Grieg’s strongest works; each showcases both his humanity and his gift for
melody. Although op. 45 is the most often played, the other two sonatas are its
equal in every respect. David Gillham and Chiharu Iinuma ensemble very well
together and the performances on this recording are stellar. Highly
recommended.”
