Speedmatters.org has a site devoted to promoting high-speed internet for all, bringing a lot of different issues (political, social, economic) related to access to high speed internet together. Madison’s choices for high speed right now are Verizon (but not available in all parts of town) or Time Warner Cable, which until recently was provided by Adelphia. Verizon has its New Hampshire phone lines for sale, so the future development of high speed internet via phone lines is uncertain. Time Warner is available throughout town, and their website answers some basic questions about the switch from Adelphia and what services they can offer now, but I’ve been waiting over a month for an answer about how to get a fixed IP.
