New this week: City of God about gang life in Rio de Janiero’s slums, compared by reviewers to Scorsese’s Goodfellas and Gangs of New York; Sybil, the 30th anniversary edition of the excellent TV movie from 1976 with Sally Field and Joanne Woodward; and Akeelah and the Bee, a highly-recommended family movie about a girl and a spelling bee.
