We are sad to hear news that Bob Dannies has passed away. Bob was chairman of the Building Committee when the library was constructed in its current location in 1993-94. He continued supporting the library as Trustee for 10 years, through 2004. Bob and his wife Nancy (who also served as library Trustee in the 1990s) believed that a modern, well-kept and welcoming library was an important asset for the Town of Madison. We will miss his gracious manner and his ability to lead a project as well as pitch in and get it done.

When we looked for a photo of Bob in the photo album of the library’s construction to include with this announcement, we found very few, finally realizing that Bob was most likely the one taking the photos as he kept track of progress of the building project. The photo album is at the library, for anyone who would like to look at it. (This photo is from the dedication of the library building in 1994.)
