Do you or someone you know have a great story or two to tell about growing up or living in Madison? We’re collecting oral history stories this summer as part of our Local History Project, and will hold our first “recording booth” session this Thursday, July 7 at 7 pm. We have a digital recorder purchased with a grant from the Pequawket Foundation to use for recording and then archiving these interviews online. This recorder can be borrowed so that you can take it home to record interviews with friends and family members at their homes.

We’re still looking for another volunteer or two to collect interviews. Easy-to-follow guidelines for conducting good interviews and using the recorder instructions will be provided.

Call ahead, 367-8545, if you plan to come to be interviewed to reserve a time. We will schedule more sessions as needed.

What’s your story?
