in the John F. Chick Room at the Madison Library

All plants and trees depend on soil nutrients, frequent watering, clean air, and an abundance of pollinators. Different pollinators are attracted to different plants, and so as gardeners it is helpful to know what plants/shrubs/trees our native pollinators like. It is also important to know what hazards these pollinators face due to human activity.

We will discuss various native pollinators and what to plant to attract them. Most people are familiar with butterfly gardens, but there are many, many more insects and birds that are necessary for successful vegetable and flower gardeners.

Refreshments will follow the presentation.

All are welcome, free.
