Summer is a busy time here in Madison, but sometimes we need some quiet space for study or work, or just for peace of mind.

The Madison Library’s John F. Chick Room (on the lower level) will be open from 10am – 2pm on Tuesdays and Fridays throughout the summer (except 8/2) for quiet library use. The room has large table(s), chairs, a restroom, air conditioning, and wifi.

How it works:

  • Enter through main library (upstairs). Check in at desk before heading downstairs.
  • No smoking, neat snacks okay; take your trash home with you, please.
  • Respect others using the space and take phone calls and conversations outside.

Other quiet times can be arranged during library’s open hours when Chick Room is not in use, ask librarian if a time is available.
