The last week of July marks the 6th week of our Summer Reading Program. We’ve been using our theme “Dream Big-READ!” to share stories and crafts about dreams, the night and nighttime animals. On Wednesday, August 1 at 4 pm, children 9 and up, and children ages 4 to 8 with a helpful adult, are invited to come learn to make a needle-felted owl with Diane Cook Johnson of Soft Touch Farm. Space is limited to 10 children, and preregistration is required. Call or stop in to register by July 31.
Participants in the Kids’ program, stop in or print out the Reading Journal for Week 6.
Winners of the Reading Journal drawings were, for weeks 2 & 3, Sequoia Santoro, and for week 4, William Twigg-Smith.
Finally, to answer a good question about the kids’ reading journals, you can bring in your reading journals from previous weeks, even if you missed the deadline for the weekly prize drawing. Remember, you need to complete 3 out of the 6 reading journals to be eligible for prizees at our wrap-up party on August 15. Deadline to hand in all weekly reading journals and your reading log (your list of the books you read) is August 10.
