Thanks to many wonderful donations and hours and hours of sorting, stacking, and schlepping by a slew of volunteers, this year’s book sale (held Saturday, August 1) was a success. Many folks have been asking what happens to the books that do not sell. Popular fiction paperbacks in good condition are packed to go to the hospital; hardcover books and pristine paperbacks are packed and waiting to be picked up for shipment to Better World Books; and some (the yellowest, oldest, or most out-of-date) go to the transfer station for recycling.
