Join us for a slideshow presentation, followed by a hike, by Kevin Martin, author of the hiking guide Big Trees of New Hampshire: Short Hikes to the Biggest Trees in New Hampshire from the Seacoast to the North Country, on Friday, August 8 at 9:30 am in the library’s John F. Chick Meeting Room.
In his book, Martin describes 28 hikes that access 85 of the largest trees in New Hampshire on public land or in the cities where the public can see them up close. A resident of Epping, Martin is a fourth generation New Hampshire native and outdoorsman. In his presentation, Martin will share stories of big trees around the state, along with information about their history, management and caretaking.
There will be copies of the book available for sale and signing after the presentation. Also following the presentation, Kevin Martin will lead a hike to a nearby “big tree.”
