Join us on Wednesday, July 10 for a two-part “Dig into Reading” Summer Reading Program event presented by Mad Science!
The first part is “Dig Into Science!”, a 45-minute fun-filled performance, at 1 pm at the James Noyes Multipurpose Room at Madison Elementary School. Exploring the science that happens underneath the ground, this program covers the layers of the earth, soggy soil, underground creatures, earthquakes and volcanoes. This presentation is suitable for all ages, and is free and open to the public.
The second part of the Mad Science! visit to Madison is at 3:30 pm at the Madison Library. Mad Science! will teach a “Dinosaur Workshop,” a hands-on science experience where children will dig for fossils and make a cast of a dinosaur tooth to take home. This workshop is for children ages 5 to 9 years old, and preregistration is required as there is limited space. Call the library at 367-8545 to register.
This Kids, Books and the Arts event is made possible with a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Saul O. Sidore Memorial Foundation in memory of Rebecca Lee Spitz. Friends of Madison Library have also provided funding for this program.
