Today (November 21) the Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF) visited Madison. The Madison Library is the recipient of a “rural public libraries” grant from CLiF. The grant provided $2,000 worth of new children’s books for our library.
Duncan MacDougall, founder and Executive Director of CLiF, stopped first at Madison Family Daycare to tell stories and to give them a set of books for their library. The Madison Preschool will also receive a set of books.
Then, the fun moved to the Madison Elementary School, where students listened to Mr. MacDougall as he told stories and introduced some of the 122 books that are now available at the Madison Library to check out and read.
The books brought to the library were donated by Ms. Carol Keenan, in memory of her mother. Each of the 122 books has a CLiF bookplate label that reads “This book has been donated to the Children of Madison, NH in loving memory of Marie Wilkinson. Happy Reading!” We are very thankful for CLiF this Thanksgiving week. Stop in soon and check out some books!
