Robert Newton, Professor of Geosciences at Smith College for over 30 years, will present a talk on “The Geologic Story of the Ossipee Mountains” on Tuesday, July 12 at 7 pm in the library’s Chick Room. Dr. Newton has taught courses in physical geology, geomorphology, groundwater geology, glacial geology and climate change. An expert on the Ossipee Ring Dike, he has mapped the glacial geology of the Ossipee Quadrangle.
The Friends of Madison Library will host this program, which is free and open to the public.
