April is many things: National Poetry Month, Jazz Appreciation Month, Autism Awareness Month. April has Earth Day, Arbor Day, and Tax Day, major religious holidays, and this year, April 12 marks the 150 anniversary of the start of the Civil War.
What do these have to do with the library? This is where you can explore the ideas that these annual celebrations bring up; you’ll find books of poetry, jazz recordings, autism resources for parents, info on how to get tax forms online or delivered by mail, books on religious history and present practice, a children’s program for Earth Day on April 19, tree identification guides, and over 80 items about the Civil War: fiction, history books, and videos.
April 10-16 is National Library Week, a time to take note and celebrate all the things you can find to enrich, educate, and entertain you at your library.
