. . . to all Madison residents of all ages:
Madison Reads The Great Little Madison
Written for older children, award-winning author Jean Fritz has made this book about James Madison–Founding Father and our town’s namesake–an accessible and fun read for all ages. Families are encouraged to read it aloud together to include younger children.
Multiple copies of this book are available at the library, pick one up to read this summer.
All are invited to come together as a community on Tuesday, August 24 at 6 pm to share a potluck meal and talk about the book, President Madison’s contributions to our country, and why our town’s founders chose to name this town after him.
The Madison Library was awarded a “We the People” Bookshelf grant by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Each year, the NEH puts together a set of books on a theme “important to the nation’s heritage” to “encourage and strengthen the teaching, study, and understanding of American history and culture.” The Great Little Madison by Jean Fritz is one of the books in the set that was given to the Madison Library.
