A list of 50 books to “open a window on the times we live in.” Here’s a refreshing article about readers and reading from the NYT. Paperback romance is one genre we don’t add to the collection too often, but if there’s demand, we can try to meet it. If you’re an avid romance reader, let us know if you’d like the option of borrowing the books from the library, [...] “I need to find a new author” is a phrase we’ve been hearing a lot at the library (and I’m sure a lot of public libraries) lately. Thriller readers, in particular, have their favorite authors, and are regularly rewarded with new books by these popular authors as publishers push out titles from their top-sellers at [...] It must be December, there’s a new list every day. For some weird reason, we have the even numbered selections [...] The Madison Library Book Group doesn’t meet in December, so here’s a list for those who like reading recommendations (and who doesn’t?) These are all in the Madison Library’s adult collection, except for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, which is probably the funniest holiday book ever for all ages. We have lots of children’s titles, [...] Today’s Conway Daily Sun’s “Weekenders” page has two feature stories, one about a new NH hiking book, Haunted Hikes of New Hampshire by Marianne O’Connor (complete with glow-in-the-dark cover), and one about Taj Mahal’s new CD, Maestro. Both of these are available at the libary to borrow. |
